Online shopping in South Africa

If you're looking for a reliable online shopping experience in South Africa, then you should try our site TAKE2.co.za. Of course I'm biased having recently taken up the role of CTO in Cape Town where we are building an awesome team.

There are great things to come. We're really looking forward to showing you what we have planned. If you want to be part of it, then I'm hiring into my team. I need front-end and back-end developers, and systems administrators. The conditions are: be amazing, be in Cape Town.

OG7 session in Drupalcon Copenhagen | Gizra

Finally, we've been able to collect all the movies and edit them together. Unfortunately the quality isn't great in the first few minutes, but it's getting better and I hope you'll enjoy watching it.

Thanks to our "camera guys" - David Mollière and Peter Stumpf (that as it turns out, is really working for the UN and uses OG for that!)

For those who want too see the technical stuff from the session I gave should follow this link. I hope this will encourage people o try out Organic groups for Drupal 7 and help in making it a great module.

The full Drupal OG presentation has now been posted on Gizra.com.

Amitaibu's Organic Groups Presentation at DrupalCon CPH

By far the best presentation at a geek fest I have seen. If anyone has a video of the full session, I would love to see it again as I am sure many others would.

Get up early on Tuesday!

We have managed at the last minute to get Scott MacVicar from Facebook to come to Copenhagen to talk about the HIPHPOP PHP compiler.

We have scheduled Scott's talk to fill the 9 a.m. Tuesday slot that was left vacant by Laura Scott from PingV who is unfortunately not able to attend DrupalCon.

If you are interested in high performance solutions for Drupal this is a talk you won't want to miss.

It's a full schedule Tuesday and Wednesday. If there's any morning to be planning a late start / hangover I think it's Thursday. But here's another reason to be at the front of the queue on Tuesday.

Misconfigured feeds

Whoops. The feed was misconfigured. Should be fixed now.

Easy social media alibis

If legal courts will admit evidence from social media sites, and the data is easy to game, this doesn't leave us in a good place. I think a stronger forensic approach is required to accept this evidence and perhaps operators of sites should sign up to certain standards of non-repudiation of submitted date.

Open source's ardent admirers take but don't give

Open source went mainstream long ago. It's a pity, then, that it's still so poorly understood by many of its most ardent admirers.

Interesting review of the recent Accenture analysis of open source adoption. Open source collaboration is, ultimately, inevitable.
